The Christmas Wife

The Christmas Wife was a hard read at first, but as I continue to read. I began learning more about Mr. Tanner, and this kept my interest to the end of the story. In the beginning of the story, I felt bad for him, it seem as though he was a lonely man, who misses his wife. Even though she had been dead for three years, he still thought of her a lot. I thought that was a long time to be still grieving your dead wife. But for Mr. Tanner, his marriage to his wife was perfect. She pretty much did want ever he wanted, and agreed with want ever he would say. Because of him being an architect, I’m sure he worked along most of the time. Meaning, he did not have anyone to answer to, like a boss, while he would be designing a building for one of his clients. Mr. Tanner enjoyed being in controlled, especially while he was married and working has an architect all those years. I believe he was not aware of this fact, about himself. But it soon would be made known to him, crystal clear. Through a situation he thought of to happen at one of the buildings he designed.

The woman hanging from tho thirteenth floor

I am from Chicago, so when I read The Woman Hanging from the Thirteenth Floor Window. The setting of this was in Chicago, which kept me interested in this poem. When it comes to suicide, I believe it is the greatest selfish act anyone can make. The setting in this poem, I believe, is by Lakeshore drive. In this area of the town, there are tall buildings looking over Lake Michigan. This woman was deeply troubled; it is beautiful around the lake in Chicago. She just had a baby not to long ago, and she already had two other kids before this baby was born. She also had two failed marriages. The woman mother thought of her has her daughter, naturally. But her father thought of her has his son, which would make her a tomboy. I believe she suffers from schizophrenia. While she is hanging from the thirteen floor, she saw other women hanging from their buildings that look like her building.  Although, that is how those buildings are in Chicago on Lakeshore drive. They are exactly alike for the most part. She also hears voices when nobody is around her at the time. She is not in shape, because her belly is soft. This makes perfect since, because she has a baby, and you gain weight during pregnancy. This woman wants to escape from her life; it is too hard for her to continue living.
